Hello, everyone.
I am entering UF as a freshman for the summer B semester, but I’m not sure what classes to take.
I’m a Mechanical Engineering major, but I have most of the Gen Ed credits that are needed.
I’ve heard that Good Life is a good class to take over the summer, as it is more lax and not too difficult. Any other ideas for an easy class that is necessary? I heard something about Humanities classes that are needed? I believe there was a list of five of them?
Anyone know of a “harder” course I could take over the summer to balance out the “easier” course? Preferably one a Mechanical Engineering student would need?
Thank you!
Your advisors will help you choose your classes. Most engineering classes are Summer C, with only a few being Summer A or B. In fact, it looks like the ME/Aero space department isn’t offering any classes you could use this summer.

Introduction to Engineering EGS 1006 is a 1 credit survey classes that reviews each engineering major at UF, useful if you think you may be interested in something other than ME or simply want to know what the other engineering majors do.
After your core classes (Calcs, Physics, chemistry, etc), You can look at meeting some of your other requirements. One requirement will be a “diversity” requirement. My DD took a history class (AMH 2020 US history since 1877) to met this requirement, so look for possible classes that met the “diversity” requirement.
Good Luck!
