Hey guys i have a quick question and I hoe that some of you who have experience will be able to answer this.

Im a junior in high school so i have three choices for programs to do this summer.

One is a summer internship at Cisco Systems, which i did last summer.
Another is the SCAD Rising star program at Hong Kong,
Third is Summer Ventures

Honestly, I can probably get an internship at Cisco anytime due to connections. The reason I want to do SCADRS is because i do art as a hobby and i guess it will make me look well rounded?? And for Summer Ventures, I heard its super selective but the thing is, they like make you stay for four weeks.

So I have no doubts that I’ll make it into NCState or UNC, because im in top 3% of Enloe High school, have other extracurriculars, have like all 5’s on five ap exams, and am an eagle scout so im willing to risk a chance doing SCAD. Like just for fun.

But I was wondering, which one looks the best on college apps?

Important Life Lesson: Do what you want to do, not what “looks best.” Regardless of whether you get into the schools or not (and you do say that you’re a strong candidate), you’ll have missed out on an amazing experience if you throw your own desires away for the sake of a few colleges. It’s not like adcoms are going to say, “Oh, this applicant was looking good, but then I saw that eyncus did this art program over the summer. Must not be serious about a college education.”

tru tru that was what i was thinking, right now im at a position where i can sacrificec some educational oppurtunities for fun oppurtunities, but has anyone done Summer Ventures or SCAD
