I am so eager to accept my UCF Admissions offer, but I can’t yet until I figure some things out first! If I do accept it and for any reason I can’t go…what happens? :P

I have no idea. Sorry. X( But what kinds of things do you need to figure out, if you don’t mind me asking?

You will lose the deposit. You still have time to pay for the deposit. In theory you have until May 1.

How do you lose a deposit?

If you pay the deposit to UCF and decide to not attend, you lose the deposit.

Oh! Sorry. I thought she meant lose the opportunity to pay the deposit. You know, lose your spot. I didn’t know that abby already paid.

I haven’t paid yet–so basically if I accept and wait to pay the deposit and I decide not to go I’ll be okay…? (Except for the fact that if I do pay the deposit and can’t go, I’ll be down $200.)

And as far as figuring things out, my boyfriend and I are planning on moving to Orlando together…we just need to make sure that is a definite thing.

One suggestion though… don’t base your future on a decision your boyfriend and you will make… UCF is a great school, and although I wish you and your boyfriend a long relationship, most likely it will not survive the college years. Your future is in your hands, not in someone else’s hand…
Hope you make the right decision for you!

Thank you so much for the advice! Are you positive that nothing else will happen besides the loss of the deposit btw?

Abby12… I am not 100% sure, but I will contact the school tomorrow and will let you know. My son was accepted for the summer term, and he also is waiting to pay for the deposit. I also need to make sure that he can wait without losing his spot.
I will get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

Thank you so much!

Hi abby, below is the answer they provided. You have plenty of time!

"The enrollment deposit may be postmarked by May 1 for summer or fall terms.

Housing priority is probably another consideration

Thank you! I accepted today and hopefully everything works out so that I can attend this summer. I am planning on living in an apartment so I shouldn’t have to worry about on campus housing. :)

Good luck!

Just got accepted today :D

Congrats, hipster!

How long did it take UCF to get you guys’ transcripts?

Eh, at most two days. My school sent them electronically.

My school’s medieval. They went by snail mail and it still hasn’t arrived. It’s been a week but I’m pretty sure USF had them by then.

Ah, I, personally, sent USF a paper copy of my transcript not knowing that my school had sent one electronically. It took about four days to show up. I remember those days feeling like a week! Lol
