Summer finaid

So Session A has already started and only the fee grant has paid out for me. Has anyone received their Pell grant?

I'm still waiting on receiving the Parent PLUS application (that's a whole other issue of one person saying it's been mailed out, another saying they haven't printed them yet, another saying they can't just fax it...)

Basically, I've been getting mixed answers from FAO and I'm wondering if anyone here can offer any insight.

god i hate them.

this is probably not going to be the most comforting response, but at the very least it may comfort you to know that you’re not alone on this matter. I am also struggling with waiting for the pell grant to be paid out. For me, they’ve only paid the fee grant as well. I didn’t accept any loans so I can’t help you in that department though :/

I met with a finaid advisor and she said that the Summer Pell Grant was supposed to be distributed last week but they’re behind. They really don’t have a definite answer as to when we’ll receive them.

Well, I feel a tiny bit better I’m not the only one having issues. :frowning: Hope it all sorts out soon

Dude can we make this a rant thing. So I realized that my friend who has the same EFC as me and less units got more aid than me. Thinking it’s a mistake, I call FinAid, who tells me it’s a mistake and to check back in a week because they’re updating the system. This repeats for FIVE WEEKS. Good thing I was busy with finals/final projects. Anyway, last week I call them again, and they tell me the same thing, except that it’s not their problem but SummerAid’s. So I email SummerAid and got back an email saying my FinAid was correct. -_-

I also feel like going in person makes a huge difference so if you can head down to the FinAid or SummerAid office, with a parent, to rant, they might hurry up some times. I assume you’re waiting for a refund, but if you’re not then don’t worry about it FinAid will go through and you won’t get late fees.

Yeah, every time I call, I get contradicting answers and have to call every single week, so I avoid calling if I’m in the area.

Surprisingly, I’ve gotten the most help from emailing FinAid, at least during the regular school year, bc it’s usually answered by an actual advisor.

Of course, Finaid paid out my registration fee grant (which doesn’t REALLY require any actual “paying out” since it goes straight through CARS  ), but nothing is happening with my Pell Grant or my parent PLUS loan application (does it really take several days to print out one piece of paper??? Wouldn’t it save them money if I just picked it up myself. ugh)

I signed up for D session which starts on July 5th. I knew I would be eligible for Pell and Summer fee grants, but I had to call for them to acknowledge it. Now, myFinAid says I will receive Pell but NOT Summer fee grant, and the officer said it was a mistake that is being fixed. but like everyone else said, that was weeks ago.

Now I’m worried because I have a balance for the summer reg fees due 6/15 in my CARS and not the fee grant that was promised to me. ugh worried.

KellyMK: actually the same thing happened to me. I called in and they “tagged” it as being a mistake and it was fixed in a couple days.

pell grant is paid for mine… when does the EFT happen??

my grant said it was paid yesterday, too. I’m assuming EFT should transfer it any day now.

same problem with me :(

I’m just waiting for the Pell Grant to pay out to my EFT.

same here with the Pell Grant. from my experience, it takes a couple days to go through EFT, then you should get an email saying it will be transferred to your account within 3 business days. Hopefully it goes through soon, rent is due ahaha
