I thought financial aid would be disbursed the thursday before classes which is today. I didnt get anything yet. On myfinaid it also used my scholarship and pell grant to pay for my tuition and fees. cal grant B hasnt paid out my money to me.

yes for most people, financial aid was paid on the 10th or even before for some

Still waiting on the Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship. Called yesterday and was told they were “going through the pile.” Ugh.

@aeboi i went to the billing office and they said the 10th was money to pay the tuition and we would get our fin aid money later near the time when school begins aka now. did you reciever ur full pell grant as well as ur cal grant paying off ur fees?

@momfirst i know its real aggravating. i got an email from them a few days ago saying their still figuring things out.

yeah I’ve gotten all of it, cal grant, pell grant, everything, just got the refunds in my bank account today

iu didnt get refund as my finaid was less than the fee but it seems like all paid out including berkeley ug scholar ship

Nope, still waiting on my refund. Haven’t gotten an EFT notification either, Berkeley Undergrad Scholarship hasn’t paid, Cal Grant hasn’t paid, loans have been paid out but haven’t been deposited to my account…

I’m getting pretty worried because a) I need to buy books and b) I’m preeeetty sure my landlord wants me to pay rent. Neither of those things are happening without my aid.

Unfortunately, financial aid decided not to update their website to let everyone know what’s going on with this cluster****, so I’ll just have to keep waiting impatiently.

I’m still waiting for the EFT refund. How long after CARS is paid in full is the remainder sent to my bank account?

As far as I know, it should’ve already.

I’m still waiting for my Cal Grant, UG scholarship, and loan money too. :-/

Still waiting for EVERYTHING (grant and student/parent loans) -____-

Same…nothing so far. I posted this in another thread (found it on the calgrants website) not sure if it’s true because some people got cal grants…but it might have something to do with the problem.

Payment Updates

2009-10 Payments
2009-10 Cal Grant disbursements, including summer term payments, continue to be on hold due to the state’s funding shortfall. CSAC cannot disburse these funds until we receive authorization from the Department of Finance.

2010-11 Payments
2010-11 Cal Grant payments will not be made until the 2010-11 California state budget is passed and signed by the Governor.

Same exact problem here. I can see that the financial aid office has an army of irate students waiting to swarm them once we all arrive.

“Campuses in the University of California and California State University systems will front the Cal Grant money to their students, then get reimbursed when a budget is signed.”

So, the holdup isn’t the state budget.

Yea that makes sense because I know cal grants have paid out for some people…sigh. Just gotta wait until move in day and go talk to them in person.

Haven’t received my Cal Grant A or my Berkeley Undergrad Scholarship. Everything else has paid out (Pell Grant, Loans, etc.). I also haven’t been offered additional money for not waiving out of SHIP yet…

Latest in the weird financial aid stuff saga - last week my Quick Statement went from $0 to $8400. Tonight, it adjusted to $1400 (I should owe $0 and get a refund)

SO WEIRD. I wish they would release something clarifying what’s going on. It’s kind of infuriating that they’re leaving us hanging with no knowledge of what’s going on at all.

that link makes some sense.

this is the email i got from finAid counselor:
Some of your financial aid has paid to CARS, and your current balance owed
is $*. We are still in the process of trying to verify your Cal Grant
eligibility. If you are confirmed as a Cal Grant recipient, then your Cal
Grant will pay accordingly. If you are not confirmed as a Cal Grant
recipient, then we will replace the Cal Grant with our own grant aid.

I thank you in advance for your patience in this matter.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle Turner
FASO Counselor

Im already confirmed, i checked on webgrants4students. why is this taking so long, they might as well give CAL’s grant aid now rather than me waiting. I gotta pay rent, buy books, stuff for my apt and the deposit money back to my roomie.

it’s nice to know i’m not the only one… this is ridiculous.
