Summer Job v. Summer Research that costs money

Hi,

So I’m interested in science/engineering type things, and the only summer program I managed to get into is Missouri S&T’s Summer Research Academy which costs $2,400 and is 6 wks long. I could go to that, or take a summer job filing papers in a realtor’s office. I’m not really sure which to go with, or if doing the job will not help my college apps as much? Any help/advice would be wonderful, thanks in advance.

What is your intended major?

@seal16 biomedical engineering probably, but i’m also considering neuroscience

Does the $2,400 include housing and food for 6 weeks and/or college credit?

@Ynotgo housing and food yes, college credit no

I think research is a better way to spend your summer. $2,400 for 6 weeks is reasonable.

@seal16 I know the price is reasonable, but I haven’t heard anything at all about the program’s quality and I’m a bit hesitant to sign up for being stuck in Missouri for my summer. =/
