Summer Math

My freshman daughter isn't really into taking HMC's Summer Math, but lots of her friends seem to be considering it. Can anyone give me the pros & cons? Has anyone done it and wished they hadn't?
She is thinking of doing a CS major and just doesn't think it is worth the time or money. All thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

The word from my son: Do it, do it, do it. Summer Math gets a year’s worth of core math credits out of the way, credits your daughter has to take regardless of her choice of major. Getting them out of the way in the summer means she can take an easier load in the critical, GPA-destroying first semester of sophomore year – or get a jump start on a course in her major if she wishes.

It’s a great intensive program that’s very different from a regular semester, because there’s no need to switch back and forth among subjects all the time. And it’s over in just three weeks, and it’s a nice bonding experience too. About half of geekson’s class took Summer Math. I don’t know of any who regretted it. geekson absolutely loved it and, despite the short timeline, found it easier than the regular semester because of the intense focus.
