I'm a junior and I'm really excited about the idea of doing research over the summer, especially anything related to medicine. I know about programs such as RSI, SIMR and others that are extremely picky and hard to get into. I am a good studen E.G. I have a 4.1 wieghted GPA from freshman year through now (last semester i got a 4.6), I have 5 AP classes this year( top 5 % of class). Buut im not an excellent student, and from reading forums about programs such as SIMR and RSI, i feel as though only rank 1/800 students with 2400 SAT have a chance at getting selected. I was wondering if there were any less prestigious summer research programs that a student like me would have a chance at being accepted to. I am going to apply to SIMR and others as well just in case, but I want to be realistic and apply to programs in my range because I am really looking forward to doing research this summer. Thank you
