summer orientation for transfer students

@Locness

When I submitted my verification paper, I mailed it Friday morning and it got processed Monday afternoon. They don’t work on weekends, so on Monday, it should get processed.

i found a place in north campus

it was suppose to be for 2 people…but I’m thinking I might move into a 1/1
because my roommate/friend is being “iffy” / “flaky” about getting it

I paid my half of the deposit and he hasnt yet still

so…if I get a 1/1 in the exact same complex I can just pay the whole deposit and be guaranteed an apartment and not have to worry about it…its just that I dunno if I can afford it until i recieve my financial aid information back

i hope i make new friends so I will have a reliable roommate next year

I have plenty of friends at UT already(that I knew since high school)…but I’d like new friends

congrats Locness, knew you’d get in.

join this fb group everybody, this is where we all are kinda discussing our orientation related activities/miscellaneous stuff:

what’s the deadline to pay for the June 25 and 26 orientation?

good to see that we are so involved. I am so excited. so let’s meet on skype on sunday at 8 central time. and when we check the orientation planning, there is a gap around 6. so let’s meet at 7 on monday maybe at starbucks. please give some ideas. the orientation is pretty close.

Hey Everyone!
-female
-International Transfer
-Computer Science
-Junior

Looking forward to meeting you guys!!!

I’m attending! so excited it’s finally here!

Me as well!!

I’m scared classes are going to be full by the time the July orientation dates come around… that’s the orientation session I’m attending

Hey I just got a letter from an adviser stating that I need to submit my HS transcript to fulfill the foreign language requirement. I am also attending orientation Monday.

Anybody know if this will affect my registration?

so what goes on during transfer orientation? is it different than freshman orientation?

i think its basically the same thing…except they want all of us to go together because instead of starting fresh like most freshman…(well some have AP credits and community college credits, but not as many credits as us transfer students)…we have more credits

we go get a tour of the school, get advised as to what credits we have and what we need, after we are advised the hold is taken off our ut eid and we can register(at a certain specified time that it opens), we go to different events they hold at orientation that go into the night/evening

and they wouldnt want to mix freshman and transfer students

we probably get along better with each other than with freshmen

New classes open up for each orientation. They do fill up quickly though so you need to be ready by the time they’re open on the second day of orientation.

Orientation’s pretty chill. Day one done. No problems.

What time do classes open up on the second day of orientation which is today.

I think at 11 but you are supposed to register at your assigned orientation and they give you the information there… I wanted to sign up before orientation but there is a bar placed on our accounts till we meet with an advisor.

what did you guys bring for orientation? and did you have the opportunity to drop off all your stuff at the dorm you’ll be housed in?

Did anyone who went to the first session sign up for a TrIG? If so, how did it work?

I went to the school today to have my student ID made. It was so beautiful in the campus.

@NOCHINKY

Where did you get your ID made at (which building and where in the building)? I am not attending orientation, but I am going to be on campus in 1-2 weeks. Thanks.
