summer orientation for transfer students

Sigh… thank you mom and dad. I’m going to the last orientation on the 5th and 6th. ■■■. Anyone else going? -sigh-

-Girl
-Junior
-McCombs business shool
-July orientation

im going to the 5 and 6…=(

unless one of the sooner ones open. I’ll keep checking just in case but i doubt it will happen.

if any of you get a chance go get your ID.
I went today like 2 hours after I found out I was accepted on my status.

I hear the lines for ID get LOOOOOOONNGGGG during orientation, might as well get it out of the way so you can do other things than wait in line during orientation

whats this skype chat thing you guys are doing to do about?

Do you mean that we can actually get ID made before attending orientation?

yep my girlfriend who is starting as a freshman got hers like 2 weeks before orientation

i got mine within 2 hours after being accepted today lol

its located on the 2nd floor of the FAC building(google it)

you can go turn in your vaccinations, and get your id,…idk what else you normally do at orientation but if you can get stuff out of the way maybe you can go sign up for classes before everyone else?

I was in line with freshman(because i guess today was freshman orientation) to get my ID today and they told me that in the morning the line had wrapped around that huge room it was in so they left and now theyre back in the evening to get it.

i think you can do everything(except actually registering for classes)…its just no one will hold your hand tell you what you need to do…so you have to kind of figure out what needs to be turned in on your own…or wait until orientation

-_- I’m trying to come completely prepared so I can go straight to registering for classes since I’ll be in the latest one

utmail.utexas.edu

set up your email there

Thank you very much.
Congrats, by the way. I knew you would get in.

thanks so much I hope to see you at orientation. it’s such a relief that I even got in for my 2nd choice.

I hope that I can transfer into bme after my 1st year

My roommate backed out for my apartment so I’m either moving to a 1/1 in the same complex or I need to find a roommate. If anyone is interested let me know

I think many external transfers would have to live off campus since the chances of getting a dorm do not seem promising for us. You should not have any problem finding a roommate.
We are moving to Austin in less than two weeks. I am so excited.
Hope see you around the campus.

Anyone from Katy, TX that is going to the same orientation??

so do we all have to register for classes during orientation or is there any way of doing it beforehand… also is there a way to go on to ut direct and just look up the classes you want to register for because I would like to have an idea of what is available before I heard they set classes aside for new incoming students but is there any way to view them and look at the professors and times… Sorry its just at my old college I always registered for classes early and got the best professors and had awesome schedules and I always had everything set up like months in advance and sucks to not be able to do that at UT as a new student

Hey guys, I got accepted to my dream school of their waiting list so I won’t be attending UT. I was going to attend the June 25th-26th orientation and I cancelled it, so there’s a spot open!

did you already cancel your orientation? I would love to take your spot!

let me know!

It say on the UT website that orientation is only required for freshman, and doesn’t say so for transfer students, so I assume it is optional. Does anyone even know if it is possible to register for classes if you don’t attend orientation? or do they just don’t let you register? Since it seems like everyone in the thread is planning to attend orientation.

@bobbyn212 I don’t know, but I do know that I have an advising bar, so I can’t register for classes until I see an adviser which I will do at orientation. Although I could have the advising bar because I’ve already signed up for orientation, not sure.

@bobbyn I called on thursday about registering for classes without orientation and I was told that I would have to contact the school I was admitted into to set up an appointment with an adviser, the adviser would then remove my bars and tell me how to go about registering. Butttt the lady told me that this year they want to make transfer orientation compulsory so if you can’t attend any of the sessions you would have to make up for it by attending some meeting or session when school starts, which I don’t think is a problem since we’ll be living in UT by then.

A little late but:
