Has anyone taken Physics (electricity and magnetism) and Linear Algebra during the summer at U. of Maryland? Any feedback about these classes are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Which course # for Physics? D is currently taking Linear Algebra. It’s a lot of work as a semester long class, so I’d figure that you’d be doing a LOT of work as a summer class. She likes this class much better than Diff Eqs, which she had in the fall. (hated hated hated that class ). A friend has been with her in both classes…he preferred Diff Eqs to Linear Algebra. A lot probably has to do with how your brain works, I guess.

Any physics class is not going to be a walk in the park…did you take AP Physics C in high school. How hard/easy have your past physics classes been?

Thank you so much for your response. I am concerned because Linear Algebra is 8 weeks in the summer. One semester of Physics is 6 weeks. There is a 2 week over lap which sounds too much. Do you think the night class in Physics is easier or it doesn’t matter?
How much work to expect this summer? Any advice is greatly appreciated. The Physics class needed is the one with lab and covers electricity and magnetism. Any particular professors recommended?

I just PM’ed you. If it’s PHYS275, it’s probably doable…not nearly as much work outside of class as Linear Algebra.

Thank you so much. I don’t see Phys 275 on the summer course list.

you’re right…duh… sorry!
