Summer Premed

Im going to start college this fall and I intend on applying to medschool. Unlike most of my peers, I am not majoring in biology. I wanted to major in economics and simply finish my premed requirment byt taking the required courses. I am currently attending Rutgers NB, but I plan on transfering come fall of 2007 (if possible, ill see how it goes). So I was thinking earlire this week. If i were to complete my premed requirment over summers, would medschools mind? Summer classles are taken for credit but normally dont affect my GPA-- or something like that. Also, if I took an AP class in Highschool and tested OUT of a certain class in college, will the medschool accept the AP Credit. Sorry, this is a mouthfull, do what you can with it! Thanks so much lol.

This question has been answered a lot so you might want to do a search but....

Summer classes are generally frowned upon because they are often shorter (yes, it's a lot of matereial to cover, but just how much can one really absorb in that length of time). So, although some will argue, the majority seem to say, "no summer premeds"

No, you can not use AP credit to satisfy your premeds.

Your grades will matter in these courses - medical schools want to average your premed grades in addition to your total GPA.

One more thing, consider taking some of your other required courses (non premeds) over the summer to get them out of the way.
