ooh, yea because our schools objective is to like foster the love for science kids like me have. so they try , as much as funding allows, to provide classes that can do that. I mean our school is REALLY small, but the administrators try to do as much as they can for us. a lot of the classes I take are electives too, i took them by choice.

Oh..so that's why all of your classes are science-centered! Electives here include art..jazz band..seriously, that's about it.
What does your Bio-Medical club do? Like what is the purpose and how do you all go about your meetings, etc?

well its really called SEABS. This is our Preamble, so you get a better understanding of what we do:
Preamble We, the members of Students for Ethics and Advancement in Biomedical Science, in order to establish an entity to support and facilitate students interest and involvement in the biomedical and biomedically related sciences and student understanding of the ethics and implications of such sciences do ordain and establish this constitution of Students for Ethics and Advancement in Biomedical Science.
So a lot of times we have forums about ethics-related problems in sicence like Reproductive VS Therapeutic Cloning, Transplanting organs from animals into human bodies, the Use of Animals in labs, etc. We also recently went the UCLA CityLab and did gel electrophoresis, which was really fun. Currently we are introducing members to the many concepts of gel electrophoresis and we earned enough money to buy materials to perform it in class. SO gel electrophoresis is one of the things we are going to do in the near future, for those who couldnt attend the UCLA CIty Lab.

Nice stats. I can understand why you were selected so early.

SEABS stands for Students for Ethics and Advancement in Biomedical Science because what we believe is that if you're going into a science related field, you should not only be aware of the science that constitutes the field, but you should know about the moral and ethical issues that come about in that field of science. ah geez, we've had so many forums its hard to remember wut they all were, but i think the most popular were the ones i listed because it's a topic that comes up frequently in the science field: The Use of Animals in Labs, Therapeutic VS Reproductive Cloning, Animal Body Transplants. There is a wide range of topics you can discuss, so it shouldn't be hard to find topics. The idea you have is good, just stick to it. We also hold different labs in class about electricity, genetics, and we've gone to forums held at colleges in our area.

Rejections are out! They even hand signed them, lol. "AMW: ek" what does that mean?

did you get it in the actual mail? i havent gotten any notification yet...

i haven't gotten anything still. oh well

So the rejections were sent out on Friday? Mail is sent on Saturday right? I don't think I've gotten anything, but then, I don't check the mail. I'm sure my mom would've told me though..it looks like a normal envelope with your name and address and some address in Cornell in the top left right? Nothing fancy?

just a normal envelope w/ one sheet of ppr. yes mail comes on saturday. i almost discarded it w/ the rest of the college spam

stupid mail service, im not surprised i havent gotten mine yet, but sarorah, i think you should have gotten yours by now, i mean, virginia is closer to new york than minnesota is right?

Neuron flare, I assure you it is a summerprogram, not a summer school of some sort. Trust me, a summer school doesn't cost this much money.

all right, my bad, jekyll

Has anyone received an acceptance letter yet?

nope, my rejection letter will be in the mailbox tomorrow though....:(
