Gladrunner, my daughter (also MT focused, rising junior) is doing voice at CCM this summer. It’s a really good program (after all, classical training didn’t hurt Kristen Chenoweth, anyone who’s played Christine in Phantom, and countless other leading ladies), and it’s a chance to see what life at the conservatory would be like. If she goes with it, and there’s a way to message me please do, and the girls can chat pre-workshop. Makes the transition easier!
@gladrunner I also wouldn’t consider not being accepted into a summer program as an indicator of not being accepted into an MT college program. There are few slots at a lot of these summer programs just like college programs and it certainly could be many factors as to why your child didn’t get into a certain summer camp…take it with a grain of salt and move on… My D was waitlisted at a summer camp @ a university well respected for MT & she is now going elsewhere. She didn’t really get upset over it.
