I recently got admitted into the Columbia 3 week Creative Writing and Journalism programs, as well as the Summer@Brown course program. Both programs look amazing from the website (except the prices), and the only reviews I can find on either of the courses date back to 2008. I was hoping that someone would have gone and attended either of these courses recently, or any other pre-college programs hosted by some of the Ivy League schools and provide feedback (but I am most interested in writing and the humanities, so that would be extra helpful). Again, anything helps, I am just trying to get some insight on whether these programs are worth a couple thousand dollars!
Worth it for what? If you think you can learn something new, and/or get a taste of a career option that might help you find some direction for your college major, AND your family can afford them, then go to the one that seems like the best fit for you. Don’t assume it will do anything specific for your odds of admission at that school (or other schools), though. Go because you think you can get something out of it.
