Summer Programs

Hi, I'm looking for short two-week at the most summer programs. If I could get any help, that would be great.

I basically have June free (nothing to do but read, seriously) so I thought it might be fun to do one of those summer programs.

Suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

two-week at the most (I'm the LTG-elect for my Key Club and I can't be gone for more than that)

preferably in June

in the US, California (in-state) if possible

hopefully not too expensive w/ scholarship options maybe

having to do with languages/politics/leadership/volunteer work/etc.

"learn something" -- I mean, I'm not going for INTEL, but I want to DO something

Thanks again!

Hm.... It's the time limit that's hard, otherwise I'd say Governor's School (if your state has one? I'm not sure about how these things work exactly.).

Ask your school counselor. She may have a list of what local colleges and high schools offer in terms of forums and that type of thing. Otherwise, enjoy your free time!

The stanford debate camp sounds fitting... though I don't know the exact name.

glassesarechic - Gah, I know. I really wish I could spend more time on a program. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely meet up with my GC soon.

classof09 - Thanks for the suggestion!

Summer@Brown mini courses.. not in California, but they're great.

Have you considered taking community college or online classes?

Thanks for the suggestion Jonathan!

Community college is something I'm already doing, but during the summer, you can only get in with a lottery. (It'd be very hard for me to win it, since I think less than 5% of my class or school forgot which can get in. It's all by chance.)
