Summer Registration

So for those of you who have gone to summer registration, what was it like? boring? interesting?

it was kinda tiring

I second that. Everytime I visit UofI, my legs are so tired by the end of the day. Eventually I will get used to it.

Registration was fun because I love the campus and all, but the course scheduling stressed me out a bit. In the end my schedule worked out for me though. Anyone who doesn't have a good idea of what classes they are taking before they go might run into some problems, because only a certain number of slots are opened in each class per day and many of them are full by the time other students have not yet gone to their advising appointment. They told us that after midnight on the day of each student's registration, classes cannot be changed until August 19th. So basically, it is in each student's best interest to register as soon as possible - go early to the appointment if you can - sometimes your adviser might be done with an earlier appointment and will allow you to come and register as soon as you show up - because the sooner you get a spot in the courses you want, the better.

All in all, though, Registration left me feeling ultimately excited about this fall. I am counting the days...

ah, so when we go down there we are actually going to literally create our FAll Schedule? I thought we get to talk with an advisor and decide what courses we will take and then go home to choose what time slots we will take those classes. So we should basically already have our schedule somewhat worked out before we go???

it would be very wise to have your schedule planned out with the time slots prior to registration. saves a lot of hassle.

so you mean look at the current course scheudle and pick time slots from that. that's a good idea and that's what I had planned to do, but my only worry is that they change the time slots for the Fall.

actually the main worry is that the courses get full quickly

Did you guys had your final transcripts sent in before you went to Summer Registration? Did your professor say anything about placing a hold on your registration if they don't receive your final transcript by the deadline?

I doubt they would. I'm pretty sure the final transcript is just for record purposes.
