Hey, so I just got accepted in to UC Davis for Fall 2009 as a lower division from a private university. This is probably a silly question, but I really want to be prepared to graduate within 4 years, soo..

does anyone know their policy for taking summer school at a CC? like, are you allowed to take only courses that fulfill your major's pre-reqs/requirements, OR, does that only work for GE requirements?

having been at CC for a while now, in each of my classes to date, there have always been one or two students attending from surrounding four years.

it's my understanding that you can take anything that isn't major specific. for example, at berkeley, for rhetoric, all students must take rhetoric 10 and 20 at berkeley (not that it's offered anywhere else...). to be safe, either check assist.org for articulated courses or talk to a department head at Davis.

There shouldn't be any restrictions on the courses completed during summer session at the CC. You of course would want to make sure the courses are UC transferable. The only restriction we have is that required courses for admission must be completed no later than the spring term; since you are an admitted lower division transfer student you seem to me meeting that requirement already.

Still, if you decide to enroll in these courses please update your application so that this can be approved by our office. Since you are now admitted, please update your coursework through the MyAdmissions site.
