I submitted app march 2nd!! Im supposed to be hearing back in two weeks? March 16th? Neways, I feel happy
Im not competing in the first round with many of you CC freaks. At least I hope the second round is more leisure . . .
But I kinda exceeded limit on Q#4. But I was able to fit it in one page. Is that good? prollay had word count around high 600s.

Oh hell. If I can't get into a program with an admit rate of 30%, then I'm an idiot to even consider applying to MIT.

^Think positively :)

My Q4 was about 2/3 of a page, with a double space between part A and part B, etc. I think yours might be too much on the long side, but if it's interesting, it shouldn't hurt you ;)

sings Waiting in the snow, just waiting in the snow, what a glorious feeling...

lol, each of my Qs were at most 2 words short of the limit. I dont want them to have any reason not to accept me lol, especially since im expecting a rejection from TASP -.-.

I sent all my stuff in on the 28th, so hopefully ill hear back from them promptly.

wow. I haven't been on CC for a while because of a science research project competition and a ballet performance... but it seems this forum has devolved into a chaotic anticipation triggered nerve-fest (or nerd-fest? jkjk i love nerds!).

At least now its out of our hands... although maybe that's what makes this so difficult?!

omggg i wish i spent more time on my essays omfggg i just want my letter like now!

wait does anyone know the exact date the letters for the early round come out? is it by next friday? or the monday after next? is it around Pi Day?

oh gosh i hope i dont get rejected just because i didnt send it in before the 20th T.T. lol.

oh goodness, now the nervousfest begins. I really hope i get in though, cuz i spent so much time on my essays and my dad actually liked them.

when do they release decisions? Isn't the deadline the 20th?

Do they give decisions by email?

hmm? i just said i hope i dont get rejected cuz i didnt get in it by the 20th of february, which is simply the early deadline. the official deadline isnt until 3/20.

i think they do it by email. itll be pretty nervewracking, so meh.

i hope to see you all in the summer though, if i get in rofl.

but it seems that cc has a good track record of people getting in. so ill keep my fingers crossed.

^ I thought someone said they didn't send it in till the last date and got in
<_<
I really doubt it matters.

By the way, how much does SSP boost your University chances? Especially for one like University of California which is associated with the program?
Please keep in mind I am the usual international student with no real 'hooks' :p
And no one answered me if it is worth telling Bowden that I'll be giving exams for 5 of the toughest APs? I just mentioned my school board in the app coz the AP decision came a few days ago.

First, it isn't associated with any schools in the University of California system. Did you mean Caltech?

About the AP's: I don't think it'll make a difference, and I wouldn't go around calling those 5 the "toughest".

I meant the toughest available to me :p

So tomorrow is 2 weeks from when we first-rounders got our apps sent in. Think we'll be hearing back soon? I really want to know.

gah, i got rejected from tasp, so this is the last thing thatll save me from having a boring summer lol. hope hope hope.

looking back on the old threads though, noone who gets rejected ever says so, and the waitlisted people tend to get off. cmonnn eagerly holds lottery ticket

I got rejected last year and I posted it. But I think, generally, most people on CC are accepted, as opposed to people being rejected and merely not posting it.

Hey, i'm just wondering, how much do the teacher recommendation count towards the admissions?..
i mean, does a recommendation from a Phd of a science, or something, increase my chances a little?

Er, will SSP look in context of what the applicant was given to work with? I got a 3 in AP Euro and a 4 in AP Stats, but my school isn't exactly great. Few people pass. I submitted those scores because SSP asked for everything. That kinda puts me in a disadvantage . . .
