Summer Science Program (SSP) 2010

Rejected. :frowning:
I’m in a simillar situation as izenonology.
Any suggestions for good summer programs that are still accepting applications?
How’s EPGY?

Eeww I got accepted into EPGY but its mad expensive and they are so frekaing stubborn to provde any financial aid or scholarship. Its just a cashcow for Standford.

didn’t make it =(
EPGY is not worth it, imo

Its funny how some people are so excited for getting accepted ad we are like here under a depression of not getting accepted. I so wanted to do this. Like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I missed it :frowning: </3

Anyways congrats to all those expected. You are like the top 72 ppl in the worldddd!! Good luck guys and remember to share ur experiences later on this thread after the completion!

I made it into the NM SSP!! Woot! Congrats to everyone who made it, I will see you there!

Rejected, though I wouldn’t have been able to attend since I recently had to confirm with Simons program at SBU.

Congrats to those accepted! I’m curious about a couple of things though, for those who were accepted–what math and science classes are you taking in school? And which piece of the application do you think really set you apart?

Yeah please post your stats.
Will really help all us rejects to get an insight as to where our application was lacking.

admit:
PSAT179, ACT 32, SAT MATH2 800, PHYSICS 800, TOEFL 108, SAT 2090(didn’t send)
GPA :4.0
I think my recommendations are nice, my anatomy teacher said I was his best student in his 33 years of teaching!(I’m an exchange student) Another one is pretty nice, too., from my calculus teacher.
And somehow I like my essays, because they are REAL.

First one I talked about the book THE NEW WORLD OF MR.TOMPKINS, maybe some of you have read it, it was a interesting way to explain all the complicated physics.

And second one is about how playing the piano help me express my feelings since I am not a good writer or painter.

Third one is about my family in China and host family here.

Last one is about Why SSP. I think I didn’t do any excellent job, just normal, telling my feelings towards high school course, and some compliments of SSP
But I like my ending.

Anyway, I think my recommendations may have helped some, essays helped a lot.
And my score may just make Mr.Bowdon say,eh, I guess she will be fine :)

@lc

though I’m rejected, still thank you for your help.
