to anyone who went to (or applied to) summer seminar,
Did you need letters of recommendation? My school’s winter break is into the second week of January. If I wait to ask for letters when we return, I won’t get them back until the end of January. I really want to apply January 1st, not Feb. 1st.
If yes, do they have to be from any particular teachers?
Besides GPA, activities, and PSAT/SAT scores, what else will I need to apply?
Thanks!

Check out this earlier post, which was under Navy

Also, go here, at the Air Force Academy site and it says you can apply January 1st.

According to that site you can have letters of Recommendation mailed or faxed.

No letters of recommendation are needed. Get together your PSAT/PLAN scores, a resume and a personal statement about your desire to attend the academy and you should be fine (that was all that was needed last year). From most people who had a solid application, they would hear back very quick. It's a priceless opportunity if your looking at USAFA.

yeah, I really enjoyed my week there. Definitely do it if you can.

Do you need official transcript from school or the scores sent from CollegeBoard?

No offical scores are needed. Honesty is though.

Do you have close relations with any of your teachers? I'm sure they would type you one during the break if you asked beforehand, or maybe ask them now and see if they can give it to you before the break.
I sent in one recommendation letter from my athletic coach via the email address provided.

Oh, I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone, but I had an optional interview with the area ALO.

It's optional but it should help show that you're interested in the AFA.

I wanna go to the summer seminar at the Air Force Academy this summer too and I have a question (that may sound stupid to some). Will they give me a military haircut if I go?

No, no haircut.

its kind of like a week when they try and sell the academy. not much of the less desirable parts are included. yeah, there is one chance , called 'doolie for a day' when you get to kind of simulate basic, but its mostly only the good parts of the academy. they want you to leave with a favorable impression.
