I'm originally from San Diego and my best friend is going to UCSD while I'm going to Berkeley. We want to go to the same university during summer sessions and I am aware that UCSD and Berkeley have summer sessions open to students from other UCs and other universities. So I have several questions. 1) What is the range of difficulty from being accepted into summer sessions? Both as a registered student at the campus and as a visiting student from another UC.

Depends on what class you take. Material is the same, it just goes a LOT faster, so classes with a heavy workload or difficult concepts will be hardest. Something “fluffy”, though, might not be any different. There’s a thread right now with someone complaining they’re making “artsy fartsy” posters in EPS 80 right now, lol.

Also the curve for engineering and math and stuff is easier in summer.

Hmm. I see. But is it relatively easy to get into summer sessions at either college? Would it be easier for me to get into Berkeley’s summer sessions and would it be easier for him to get into UCSD’s summer sessions? Or is it guaranteed to get into summer sessions as long as you sign up??

consider some changed rules about federal financial aid. Summer sessions count for a regular semester of financial aid now. So if you took summer sesh. two summers and are going to get only three years of financial aid, those summers just took one year away. This is a new rule.

nobody even answered my question… IS IT HARD TO GET IN FOR SUMMER SESSION OR NOT!!!

There isn’t an admissions process for summer sessions. I think anybody can get in as long as there’s room in the class.
