Summer storage?

After making the 14 hour drive to Durham with our freshman and his Stuff, including fridge and micro, I'm wondering about the availability of storage over the summer.

Are there storage facilities nearby that offer short-term agreements? Any specific suggestions?

Thanks!

there's plenty of storage facilities, there's also collegeboxes where they pick up your stuff, store it for you, and deliver it to your dorm the following school year. there's a ton of different options

My son rented a unit with about 8 other guys. Is was not that expensive.

Duh. I should have gone to google first. You're right, of course: there are lots of storage facilities in the area.

If anyone has any recommendations or outfits to avoid, that would be appreciated. I imagine that the units get scarce as May approaches--right?

Yeah, get them early. Last summer, they offered storage units on Central. Other than that, public storage is pretty cheap but has no climate controlled units.

Amused-

Who is "they" who offered units on Central? Duke?

Thanks.

My first year I had a climate controlled unit off campus... and I've never heard of anyone renting space on central to store stuff.
Don't even worry about this NOW.

OK, Bluestar! I'd much rather not worry NOW. This is probably something i can add to the student's to-do list (!) next term.

yes, Duke offered it
