Are you moving back all your stuff during summer or you have some place to storage it? When my S moved in August, we bought most of the things there, he just flew with two bags and we carried three more, but now?fridge, monitor, printer, linens and comforters, books?

Wash U has a student run service called 'Wash U Trucking." They will probably be sending information about this service to both you and your son before too long. Basically, you contract with them to pick up your already packed items (they will even provide storage boxes and tape at no extra charge), they store the items over the summer in a climate controlled environment and then deliver your belongings back to you at your new place of residence, provided it is on campus, on your move-in day. We have used this service for several years and the service, although not perfect is decent.

I don't know.....I didn't use the service (they offered it to freshman living in certain places this fall), but I saw the trucks they used and it seemed like the stuff in boxes had been extremely beaten up and manhandled.....I'm not too sure that I'd use the service this year either....

University Trucking is a service I have used for four years. They are exceptional, and none of my friends nor I have ever had a problem. They are also student run, but very professional and helpful. They even rent out door room appliances!

I would highly reccomend using University Trucking for summer storage.

Is University Trucking the same thing as WashU trucking? And how much does the service cost, moving and storage?

UTrucking pricing can be found at https://www.utrucking.com/summer/pricing.asp . That's the only storage company on campus. You can also rent storage space off campus at Public Storage (cheapest and closest), U-Haul, or Extra Space Storage if you have access to a car or feel like renting a truck. That can be cheaper and more convenient, especially if you split space with a few friends.

It is a huge pain to store things yourself: there aren't elevators in most dorms, you have to rent a truck, deal with rediculous traffic during move out, you have to buy boxes, there is no insurance, you must sign a storage contract at some place, etc. I did it my freshman year with 2 other guys and it wasnt a pleasant experience. I think going with Utrucking is a good idea. They pick things up from your door in the summer and deliver it to your door in the fall!
