Summer Studies.

Hey guys, I am going into 10th grade. My parents keep on telling me to study for stuff like SAT or courses for next year or even read all day which would help me for SAT. I keep telling them that its the Summer and to let me chill. We keep on having problems with this topic so Any Advice?? Should i be studying? Or am i normal to say that "let me chill".

I think you're normal, you work hard all school year...it's normal to want to do absolutely nothing during the summer.

haha sounds just like my family..

since the SAT isn't an immediate thing for you, you can spend your summer chillin... but you should sneak in some preparation. get a workbook and do preparation like a few times a week. that should still leave you with plenty of free time

Aren't you the kid who is obsessed with getting into Penn? You should be doing something useful with your time over the summer.

jfs, relaxing is useful.

if you got summer assignments then do that, but really shouldn't worry but much else, I don't see why you have to stress so much over Sat, the math section is ridiculous and if you do the vocab too early you'll end up forgetting most of it unless you repeat the same thing over and over again

Quote from the thread - "ok guys, heres the base line, i realized that i need to work harder at the end of 9th grade. Meaning, i didnt really try in 9th. So i am willing to pull up my grades."

so you REALLY want to go to Wharton/Penn and you realized you really need to work harder at the end of 9th grade. And yet, you want to chill all summer and do nothing worthwhile with your time. With that kind of attitude and the information from your chances thread, I would forget about Wharton if I were you.
