Hi! I am a freshman in high school who is looking for summer vocal performance programs. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Oberlin and Interlochen have summer programs. Also if you are in the south, check out Florida St.
Ithaca College has a nice program.
If you’re into Jazz or Popular music, the University of Colorado Denver and Berklee have great programs.
Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ has a great program: http://www.rider.edu/academics/colleges-schools/westminster-college-of-the-arts/westminster-continuing-education/summer-camps/vocal-institute
Brevard Music Center has a AMAZING High School 3 week Program. My daughter LOVED it there and learned so much! They review your application, and may award you a scholarship! Our daughter was awarded a scholarship to attend! Something we did not expect!
Brevard has a program for high school age singers. BUTI does as well.
I attended Eastman Music Horizons this past summer, and I loved it. It was really intense and challenging, but a great program held at an a great school. I loved meeting composers, instrumentalists, conductors, and other fellow singers from around the country. Its a great program, and you should definitely apply!!!
I second that, especially for a young high schooler. I attended the Ithaca program the summer before my junior year.
