Hi, I am a highschool sophomore who go to a very competitive international school in shanghai. Although I've lived in shanghai my whole life, my teachers tell me I am one of the most talented writing students they have taught.
I am passionate about pursuing creative writing, and I really like analyzing fictional stories, novels etc.. and my short stories won a couple awards at my school.
I am looking for a good, well known creative writing summer program in the States. My friends have been to summer programs at Columbia, UC berkeley and NorthEastern but I feel they had more FUN than actual learning. They are not as serious as I am about pursuing a career in writing. I've attended a creative writing class at Berkeley but didn't feel it was very helpful.
I also went to a summer program at Philips Academy Andover last year but I felt again I didn't learn as much as I hoped.
I would like to experience living in a college atmosphere but it seems like most of those programs offered on campus have a really wide range, and a lot of the times taught by not very certified grad students? (sorry correct me if I'm wrong)
So does anyone know a good program that would really help young writers pursue their passion? preferably taught by well certified profs/ teachers? (I really enjoy real interaction with teachers)
thankyou:)

oh, and the columbia program seemed pretty interesting but I saw some negative reviews about that?
