SUNY Albany VS Stony Brook

Hi, I just got accepted to both colleges and I am faced with the difficult task of choosing between the two. I will be a political science major and although social life/partying is not a top priority, I have had a horrible high school experience and would like to be in a large, diverse, and very fun campus. Suggestions? Recommendations?

UAlbany is the place to be for Political Science. Located right by the capital, not provides a lot of internship opportunities for students. I know a lot of people interning for the assembly/senate right now. The political science dept. is great as well. If you are interested in political science or anything law related, pick UA!

That sounds very convincing. Stony Brook is ranked higher academically and it is closer to where I live. However Stony Brook also has a reputation as being very boring. Very tough choice for me to make. Are people at UAlbany generally friendly?

People at UA seems to be friendly but it depends on what you get involved with and who you get to know. There are a lot of really friendly people here that are involved in a lot of different things so it’s easy to meet them. Even the professors/TA’s/faculty are friendly, and the workers in the campus center and cafeterias are always happy to help and will joke around with you and everything.
