Would love to hear from anyone who can compare the two - especially regarding:
. the sociology dept (interesting classes, professors?)
. campus life (friendliness of kids, community feeling, clubs/events, dorm life, food)
. tolerance of students and professors to differing political viewpoints
. encountering kids who are likely to discuss current events vs pop culture.
Albany is more focused on social sciences and Buffalo on stlw especially engineering.
Weather and urban envionments also differ!
Apply to the honors college at both and don’t forget SUNY Geneseo where proportion of kids interested in current events and other “intellectual” pursuits is likely higher due to the college’s nature/structure.
Just curious, which you chose and if you’re happy?
also interested which you chose and what you learned.
