I got accepted to both Bing and UB for mechanical engineering.
Was wondering what people thought of the engineering programs at these two schools.
Thanks

Interested to know as well. Bing is higher ranked and more selective so I guess this would translate in a more rigorous engineering program? Not sure.
That’s what I thought also but I read on some forums that you would be crazy to go to Bing over UB for engineering. Granted these forums were from like 2010 so things may have changed.
Buffalo has a larger engineering school, more classes and better facilities. Bing, while highly ranked, is known more for liberal arts with a few tiny professional schools. Business, engineering are selective because they are so small at Bing, not due to the quality. I suggest you visit and learn more, was not impressed with Bing engineering, after our visit.
That said, a large percentage of engineering students switch out of engineering. If you did, you might be glad to be at Bing.
Buffalo has the better engineering program so if you are looking at that UB all the way. Binghamton is not as good for engineering, they are more known for accounting and liberal arts.
If you don’t mind, what were your stats?
Go Buffalo, mo question. amazing university
