I'm thinking of majoring in Accounting or Finance in college so I narrowed my SUNY choices to Bing, Buffalo, and Albany. I know Bing is good, but of the two (Buffalo and Albany), which is better in terms of reputation, quality of education for Accounting/Finance? or just business in general. Thanks.

Bing is by far superior to these two, if you can get in bing should deff be your choice. Between the albany and buffalo I would go with buffalo.

So Baruch vs Albany vs Buff. Who wins? For biz.

for business, baruch. for anything else that isn’t criminal justice (in which case your choice should be albany), buff.

if you’re still thinking about accounting, then you should also look into suny old westbury.

*1950 SAT and an 87 UW GPA.

I’m still not sure, but I know I will qualify for FASFA for some schools because I’ve been getting these fee waivers and free lunch through out all 4 years of HS. Both parents also do not make too much. Just looking for a above average undergrad business school that will not bee too expensive.

My parents don’t really mind paying too much for my education.

*

You misunderstand financial aid. There’s no such thing as “qualifying for FAFSA” because you’re low income. FAFSA is just an application. All Americans can submit a FAFSA. All FAFSA does is spit out a number. That number determines if you qualify for Pell grants (which are small) and small student loans. FAFSA doesn’t give anyone any money.

Also, you mention that you’re on free lunch and your parents don’t make much money. YET, you claim that your parents won’t mind paying for your education??? Do they have a tree that grows money? If they don’t make much money, how could they possibly pay for your education? They wouldn’t qualify for loans if their income is low.

I think you need to sit down with your parents and get a clear figure as to how much they can give you every year.

You also need to find out what your likely EFC is…

Quick EFC - this is a rough estimate

Anyway…Buffalo and Bing are considered the best SUNYs. I think Geneseo is next after them. However, I don’t know which are best for your major.

CUNY-Baruch for business. As mentioned above…for accounting Old Westbury…but I don’t know if it’s good for other business areas.

Have you visited any campuses?

Thanks for the info. I have visited a couple.

I’d go with buffalo over albany. Albany is a huge party school!
But obviously binghamton is the better of the 2.

Can you even get into these schools? What are your stats?

In general, Binghamton is the best SUNY school by far. Buffalo is a bit better than Albany, though not a huge quality difference. You need to visit the schools to see if they appeal to you. While students get a good degree and have fun, Albany is a 60’s-era concrete jungle that some find terribly ugly. Buffalo is obviously very cold and snowy for a good part of the school year. Some don’t mind, deal-breaker for others.

SUNY Old Westbury doesn’t even belong in this discussion. Mainly a commuter school with nothing special about it.

Sorry i’m interrupting this post but I have a quick question. How long does UB take for them to reply to rolling admissions?
