SUNY Old Westbury--dorm life

Can anyone tell me how dorm life is at Old Westbury?

For those who are interested, and it doesn't look like there are many, SUNY Old Westbury is a pure commuter school. The campus facilities are literally closed on the weekend, including shuttle buses to the outside world. The only students who stay are those whose parents refuse to let them come home. There is almost NOTHING to do on the weekend.

The dorm life is horrible. The student body seems to be there not to work but to waste time. I realize that every school has a party ethic, but here it's in the extreme. Very high level of immaturity compared to other schools. Dorms are fairly new and maintained in an OK fashion, but they're noisy all night long. The RAs (who are required to stay up all night) sleep all day. Sometimes the RAs hold floor meetings at 2am, with everyone required to go. This even happened during finals week! If you have Verizon cell phone service, be prepared for...nothing...no reception.

Man, thank you for that. I'm glad I didn't apply there. Are you from the island? I am, and was considering it as a possible living option (or commuter) at the end of last year if I didn't get into any of the schools I applied to. Do you still attend?
