SUNY Stony Brook, Cal Poly SLO, or Florida Tech?

So I have a decision to make. I was accepted to several schools, and I've narrowed it down to 3: SBU, Cal Poly SLO and Florida Tech. While they're all good schools, I'm having a hard time deciding. For some background information, I'm majoring in physics with a pre-med track, and I'm from New Jersey. However, travel is not a problem, and I'm not too worried about cost, either. I know I was offered $21k per year from FIT, but I don't have information on scholarships from the other two yet. If I had to narrow it down to two, I'd probably knock FIT. I know that SBU is a research institution and has both a med-school and a physics grad program, unlike Cal Poly, and that it's ranked higher, but I'm absolutely in love with Cal Poly's campus, which is simply beautiful, whereas I feel that Stony Brook is rather weak outside of academics. Also, it seems that Cal Poly and FIT are in better locations than Stony Brook, which is pretty far from anything (even NYC is a pretty long ride to do outside of weekends). Can anyone help me? Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
You do have to consider cost first. Run the Net price Calculators and post the results here. More responses are to be expected once that factor is presented :)

Cost isn’t a factor for me.

If cost really is of no import, I’d say Cal Poly SLO (only if you’ve chosen your major - it’s binding AFAIK), and SB next.

Thanks! Any particular reason you’d place Cal Poly SLO ahead of SBU?

job opportunities, weather, campus facilities.

Okay, that’s really useful! Thanks! There’s only one other thing I’m worried about at Cal Poly. I’ve heard that because of budget cuts, it can be difficult to register for classes, and that it takes many students longer than 4 years to graduate. I know that the physics department at Cal Poly is small, so I’m not sure how much it’s affected. Do you have any knowledge on that subject?

The physics department isn’t exactly one of Cal Poly’s strong suites. Not up to par with the engineering disciplines.

The latest data shows SLO has a better graduation rate than Stony Brook. <a href=“College Navigator - California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo”>College Navigator - California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo;
