SUNY Washington DC Internships

Hi,

Parent with son accepted to BING - and looking like the most financially sound selection.

At this time (though goodness knows teen minds change) - he is interested in a foreign service career. Yes - I know you need to pass a state dept. exam (and don't even need a college degree).

I know BING does not offer an International Relations degree (but a PoliSci with IR concentration) - which I assume is most fitting, although I'm sure a graduate level degree is much more important.

I did notice that the SUNY schools offer an internship in DC experience, and was wondering if any current or former students took advantage of this - and if they could speak to their experience (especially as pertains international relations/affairs if possible).

He's waiting on a response from GWU (which would no doubt offer more opportunities, but would also no doubt be way more expensive) - but I was hoping that the semester in DC experience would offer some attraction. We did visit BING, and he was interested enough to investigate further ,,,

Thanks,
The Dad.
