Super Privileged Elitists at Harvard College

Is Harvard College flooded with the progenies of other countries' presidents/premiers, businessmen with a net worth north of 100 million USD, royal families? Flooded is relative, like in the real world, the ratio of the super privileged to normal people might be 1:100,000, but at Harvard College this ratio goes up to 1:50 - 1:100. So roughly 15 to 30 freshman every year falls into the "Super Privileged Elitist" category. I know a few students with "celebrity parents", but they don't really fall into the "super privileged" group cuz there just aren't that many parents worth north of 100 million USD, even way fewer has the deepest political connections or royal blood. I really love the diversity of this sort, and in fact the progenies of the elitists are some of the most down to earth people. What are your thoughts? Both parents and students' voices are welcomed.

Harvard doesn’t really have any rich people. I would know, because my chauffeur has to drive really slowly through Harvard Yard and so I get a lot of time to people-watch. That’s why I don’t like taking the helicopter.

I don’t know the exact royal vs non royal blood breakdown but I can ask Drew Faust for you at our next soiree.

My D is heading to H. Just attended Visitas and we all studied (and asked questions) extensively about H & Y - her final two choices. She is not super privileged - and quite impressed as to how “normal” and diverse H students are (same for Y).

Thank you for that, Ike!!

Seriously though. Everyone who’s ever step foot in Cambridge, MA is a pure blood. Even our librarians have to be at least half-blood. And we have house elves who serve our food too. (Yes. We REALLY do have house elves…though they don’t cook our food) Shout out to former house elf and awesome roomie RVF!

I had heard that they are going to replace the common app with a check of the Forbes 500 instead-- it would save the Committee so much time–and yield the same names anyway…

BTW, does anyone else think the the OP is a member–or a wannabe member-- of the Harvard Hoochies?

I got a study from my financial advisor with the breakdown of wealth in the US population. There are over 14,000 families with over $100,000,000 in assets, and 960,000 families with over $5,000,000 in assets. I don’t know how reliable the survey/study was, but the numbers surprised me.

I’m a Harvard hoochie. Oh, thirdelement, we are not interested sleeping with the guys whose parents have a net worth of mere $5 million USD, they are way too prevalent, that’s why I specifically indicated net worth of $100 million USD plus.

To be honest, $100 million is the absolute minimum because they are likely to have a few siblings/half-siblings and with America’s hefty inheritance tax they will only end up with a fractions of $100 million. (so realistically we are looking for guys whose parents worth at least of $200 million) Don’t get me wrong, this is one but not only category we look in a guy. We might sleep with him if his parents is worth north of 9 digits, but we WON"T marry him, unless he is at least 5’10, with a cute face/hot body and finish Harvard with a 2.0 or greater.

Hey I have a guy just for you. He is a graduate student at Harvard. Not sure if he is 5’10" but definitely cute face. He drives a red Ferrari and his family networth is north of $200 million. Only child and is a son of a very powerful mayor. He once dated Governor Jon Huntman’s daughter. Money may be a bit tainted but who cares. His parents are in the headline news all the time.

Hahaha, you peasants! I am Lord Benningworths IV and I attend Harvard. I spit in your food!

LOL…i’m amused.

He is fugly, short, feminine looking with no muscles. We won’t even blow him a kiss even if he is self-made billionaire.

He doesn’t go to Harvard College.

We despise tainted money.
