Supplement Essay Question

<p>For the 6th essay question on the supplement they ask: Imagine that in the near future, scientists can digitally recreate the consciousness of deceased individuals and store it on handheld devices. Every citizen, upon reaching adulthood, is issued one of these devices, inhabited by the mind of a single historical figure. It is your eighteenth birthday, and you are about to choose the figure who will accompany you for the rest of your life. Who will you choose? Why?</p>

<p>Does the historical figure you choose have to be famous? Can it be a family member? Or are they looking for more of a mainstream person?</p>

<p>I think the use of the word “historical” would indicate someone who has had some kind of impact on history. I’m not sure a family member would qualify, unless you are related to someone that fits that description.</p>

<p>I agree with dwhite. I would, personally, avoid using a family member, since the word ‘historical’ indicates otherwise.</p>
