<p>Hi. I'm aware that you can choose either the influential person essay or essay on one of the quotes, in case you are applying through the common application website as a supplement. But if you aren't, I also know that you have to complete both the person essay (500 words) and an essay on one of the quotes (300 words). I wrote all my princeton essays before completing the common application, without realizing that you don't have to do both long and short essays. I'd like to submit my influential person essay (I wrote about a North Korean refugee whom I have met last year), but do you think the admission officers would mind if I submit it as a 500 word essay? I think the essay flows more smoothly as 500 words. But the instruction says: "In addition to the 500-word essay you have written for the Common Application, please select one of the following themes and write an essay of about 300 words in response. Please do not repeat, in full or in part, the essay you wrote for the Common Application."</p>
<p>Merry Christmas, by the way.</p>
