I know it's waaay ahead of schedule (the common app hasn't even officially come out!) but I was looking at the supplement UR came out with. It said: http://enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/res/pdf/app/casf.pdf

If I am applying online, how can I send something in the mail. Common App people said on their site that you shouldn't mix up online and mail applications; just do one or the other. Has anybody else noticed this or am I just going crazy? Is it okay if we mail the supplement and do everything else online? Or am I just clueless about the app process lol
Thanks!

I believe this is for people who are not going to use the common app. If you are, it will be out in one month so I would wait and you should see this same supplement there.

In the meantime, lucky you, you can work on your short essays which are different than last years were.

Wow I’m glad I asked! Thank you! So do the supplements usually come out on August 1, the day the common app will come out?

Well that is a good question. I think some schools do have their supplements ready while others might still be working on theirs. But you can spend the month of August filling in all the routine stuff and working on your essay, short paragraph and EC list while you wait if other schools are delayed. Good luck!

Is that really the new one? It says ‘application supplement for freshmen 2012-2013’.

The questions from last year were different. I don’t remember exactly what they were from last year but the first one had to do with UR students being independent with self determination and how you fit in with this. The second one was something about a difficult situation that you overcome.

OK, thanks! That’s good, my kids always have trouble with the overcoming difficult situations questions. They haven’t had much adversity in their lives, and resort to the tired old sports cliche answers.
