Hello everyone, I was deferred SCEA from Stanford and I have a quick question. With the deferral letter, there was an "optional update form" where I could fill in achievements and activities. I'm wondering if it would be okay to send in another essay because I think my essays for my regular schools were a lot better than my SCEA essays. Would sending in a supplemental essay be okay? I mean, they couldn't make a decision on me early, so would sending another essay help them decide? Oh, and this essay shows another side of me that isn't revealed in the previous essays, so I won't be redundant.

if you are confident in the essay, send it along with updates.

Cool, thanks for the reply! Anyone else? I know that, in general, Stanford frowns on extra stuff, but I really like this essay. I think I had all the stats (4.0, 1600) but my first essay was a little too cliche.

as long as it is short and not something bulky like a research report. You can even send in a photo if you like to make it more personal

By short, is 500 words ok? And thanks for the photo idea, that sounds great!

anything less than 500 should be fine, preferably shorter.. IMO
