Supplemental Essay

In the supplemental essay, do I need to explicitly mention the quote, or components of the quote? For example, I am doing the third choice, concerning "Princeton in the Nation's Service." Does my essay need to include parts of the quote, like "nation's service"? Or can I just submit a straightforward essay about service...?

I did the fifth choice, which states to “Please write the quotation, title and author at the beginning of your essay.”, so I would probably put it at the beginning of your essay. The essay doesn’t necessarily have to include specific parts of your quote, but doing so is entirely up to you.

Well, the quote is already provided since I’m not doing the fifth choice, so I don’t think I need to write the entire quote at the beginning. That being said, I don’t think it’s too good if I don’t mention the quote at all in my essay, but I’m not sure it’s entirely necessary? Right now, my essay doesn’t refer back to the quote, but I could add components of the quote to it if necessary.

Oh my bad! I think as long as it has to do with the general prompt then you should be fine, whether you explicitly refer back to the quote or not.
