Supplementary Materials - Newspaper Articles???

Hi everybody!

Here's the story: I'm a rising senior planning on applying to Ivy Leagues and other top schools. I served on the staff of my school newspaper for two years, and last year my school terminated the print newspaper in favor of switching it solely online. I helped spearhead the creation of an independent quarterly school newspaper run entirely by students with no adult help whatsoever, and I was featured in two local newspapers for this accomplishment.

I'm wondering:

1) Would it be considered acceptable/desireable for me to send in copies of, or links to, these newspaper articles, as a sort of supplementary material?
2) If the answer to the above question is yes, how would I go about doing this? (If I were to include the link, I would guess it would go in "Additional Info" section of the Common App, but what if I wanted to print them out and send them in?)
3) I wrote my Common App essay about the creation of my independent newspaper, so do you think it would be a little bit redundant? (I didn't mention being featured in the newspapers in my essay)

Any input is really appreciated! :)

Bump bump bump.

Please tell me you’re kidding. If your letter of recommendation and your essays don’t tell the schools who you are, newspaper articles certainly aren’t going to make the difference! Send them to your relatives . . . but not to the admissions offices.
