Supply Chain Management

Is this a good choice? I had heard that management degrees weren't worth it, but perhaps that was general management?

I think it can be pretty good but needs to be paired with another discipline to really complement it. Something like information systems/finance/accounting would be good additions to the major. Just thinking about the sourcing aspect of supply chains, I cannot imagine not having an information systems background with that degree. It would seem like you would really be lacking some of the needed skills to source products, etc. efficiently.

Finance and accounting are always great bets that will aid you into the future.

Supply chain management was my number one choice when I was planning on majoring in business. I decided business was too narrow so now I’m majoring in statistics and economics and considering a master’s in IE.

Anyways, I still think SCM is a very, very good choice and you should look pretty hard at it.

I could easily tack on an accounting or MIS minor. Which do y’all think would be most useful?

MIS would be the better of the two IMO, and I’m an accounting major.

MIS would be the better of the two IMO, and I’m an accounting major.

I would do the MIS minor.

Is there any way you can fit Intermediate Accounting 1 and 2 into your schedule as well? Those two classes would be the equivalent to an accounting minor for all intensive purposes.

Possibly, I’ll have to build my schedule and see.
