Anything is possible. The deferral notification is different from last year. Spring Break begins on Monday, so perhaps they want to have everything wrapped up before then. Thinking of you all and keeping fingers crossed!!
Rumor has it, it will be Monday but that’s a rumor!
@MtMajorCook Rumors like that are fun! I will do my best then to “let it go” for the weekend! With all the acceptances coming out this week it is hard not get antsy!
My S also received the e-mail through Getacceptd regarding still being in the pool of candidates being considered. That e-mail said we would hear by March 1st AT THE LATEST. But, my S also sent a Thank You e-mail to them, and the response to him which I believe was the day before the Getacceptd e-mail said THE EARLIEST he would hear would be March 1st. I wanted to share that because I don’t think we should be stressed if we don’t hear my March 1st because there is a discrepancy in my two e-mails. Best of Luck to everyone!
I’m in Westerville to see son as I write. I’ll keep my ear to the ground
@theatremom31197 ahhh thank you for posting that, good to keep hope alive
One of students that is in that hold group said she was told they would let them know March 1st. Did anyone else here that?
You guys, that email, that @Theatremom31197 mentions sounds like it might have conveyed the correct info; it might make sense for somebody to email the department (or Elizabeth Doyle, I guess) and just plain ask. The whole business of conflicting Information means it would be a reasonable thing to ask about. I’ve been surprised to hear “March 1 at the latest” as it seems so early compared to past years.
By the way, both entertainersmom and I are in Westerville now; the winter play (“The Greeks”) ended last night, and the kids I’ve spoken with don’t know anything about when calls will be made, although they have heard that the list was finalized at the beginning of this past week. My impression is that once they have their list, they still have to run everything through the admissions and financial aid people and get that side of things organized. My son’s official letter (admissions and merit aid) arrived only two days after the phone call, so it had to have been in the works when that call was made.
If @Theatremom31197 sends that email (or makes the phone call) asking about the conflicting info, it’ll be interesting to see what they say, and meantime, I’m feeling just as antsy as you guys are! Hard to get much done while all my fingers and toes are crossed…
^Yes, I knew more than son
Today is March 1… Anyone?
My S’s letter…
We are pleased to tell you that, on the basis of your audition and interview on January 25, we are keeping you in the pool of candidates for entrance into Otterbein next year. We have many more auditions to see, of course, but we will let you know of our final decision no later than March 1.
Wishing you all the best this audition season,
Dr. John

Has Otterbein ever made calls on a Sunday?
For the last few years, it’s been midweek, and for the last two it was around March 11-13.
I continue to suspect that the message on Acceptd may have been incorrect and that it’s possible the school doesn’t even realize it. Hope somebody calls or emails Elizabeth Doyle tomorrow!
word from one of the current students is that calls are going out tomorrow
Good luck!
Good luck to everyone! This is school makes all the kids feel SO special. It would be wonderful if D got an offer. Whoever does, will be in good hands for sure! BAL everybody!
Break Legs!!! We are all so lucky to have each other on CC!! Thank you for your support!!!
BAL everyone.
I want to be an Ottermom! Good luck everyone!
You guys are taking me back to last year, such a journey! Sending your all good vibes for a call (whenever they start coming, its spring break so making me wonder about today or even this week)
