So someone in the Official ED thread dropped a bomb, that decisions will officially be released on December 8th. I'll take the hit for being nosy/impatient and call Columbia tomorrow and try to confirm. I'll post whatever I get out of them here.

thanks!!!

i can’t wait it, though i expect a rejection.

Don’t think like that zhouzichuan!

I just called. They said the date has NOT been finalized, and that the date will be before the 15th.

I am predicting the 9th b/c it’s a Friday, and last year they released decisions on Friday, Dec. 8.

That’s as good a guess as any.

I posted this in the official ED thread already not having seen this thread. My college counselor mentioned that results would be released on Thursday, December 8th at 5PM EST. Will check with her again tomorrow to make sure.

Well, they actually released them on the 9th, which was a Thursday…(http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/columbia-university/1043382-official-columbia-early-decision-class-2015-results-only-stats.html) Seems to me that doesn’t discount the 8th as a possibility still…

In any case, there’s no point in fretting, what’ll happen’ll happen, simple as that. :)

well said, although I can understand the anxiety :P

yess…but we cant wait!!! go Columbia '16er !!!

Hey guys, here is a quote off of Cornell’s website:
“Early decision applicants will be able to view their admission decision on Thursday, December 8, beginning at 5:00 p.m. (EST)”

And since the Ivies generally like to post their results on the same date…I think I’m going to put my money on the 8th as D-day (decision day). I wish Columbia was as open about their process as Cornell is…

When are the emails usually sent out telling us the date officially? I’ve heard everything from four days before to 12 hours before “d-day”.

My predictions:

-D-day is the 8th since it’s been the second Thursday in December the past three years; plus, Columbia and Cornell usually send out results the same day (this happened last year, I know).
-We will be notified of D-day Monday evening since that’s when it has been recently.

Who knows, though? Especially with the snow in late October this year, it could be later. Hopefully my predictions are right, though!

Haha “D-Day” — it perfectly sums up what that day will be like

Storming the proverbial beaches shall begin at 5PM EST. Dramatization is fun!

Actually, I think the odds of any of us being horribly killed by Columbia is exceedingly low. It’s kinda stressful though ~.~

I guess I was thinking of France as Columbia, though I think at this point we’ve just taken the joke as far as it will go…

But…why would you wanna go to France? I kid, I kid, but they don’t have Ivy Leagues there how do people get smartified :(
