I am waiting for the email…i hope they email me soon.soo nervous.

I’m in singapore… Haven’t received anything

I’m from Vietnam but I study in Singapore.

how long will they take to email internationals?

@helium47 I’m wondering the same! Did anyone receive emails?

I only received the letter, not the email! It was really fast…
I think, though, swarthmore will send the email and letter :)

Does anyone know when the e-mails were sent last year?

If FedExes have been sent out, internationals should expect to get an email around 4-7 PM EST today.

@International95 Wow! Thanks! Where did you get this info? :)

A friend attends the school.

Add Fordham University in NYC to the list of colleges who (this week) mistakenly sent email acceptances to 2,500 students who actually had been rejected or deferred. Lots of apologies, but how would you feel if you thought you had been accepted at your first choice school and found out days later that it was a mistake? I have not heard of any instance where actual “snail mail” letters of acceptance were sent out to the wrong people.

Hopefully, most domestic students will receive the letter from Swarthmore by Monday at the absolute latest, unless you live in a fairly remote area. Again, best wishes to all!

Oh, so Fordham pulled a Vassar.

I got in fron NJ… Its a thin letter, one page acceptance and a return envelope. So dont freak out if your letter is thin Like I did

Momof3Sons…in fairness to Fordham, the university admissions office didn’t send the emails…it was their (soon to be former) vendor who manages financial aid.

As for snail mail errors, a good friend of mine (years ago) received a letter from the Dartmouth soccer coach welcoming him to the team…only to be rejected by the school two days later.

buddy207207, congrats!! you’re the first domestic acceptance posting in the tread. Would you mind share your qualification(i.e GPA, test score, etc)…

EyeVee, (nice screen name, BTW ) in my opinion, doesn’t matter if it actually originated from the Admissions Office or an outside party. Fordham is still responsible, don’t you think? Do you think that students who are affected will “excuse” Fordham for this mistake, just because a 3rd party the college hired made this mistake?

mhuang-also see post #70 for domestic applicant reporting yesterday.

@Mhuang… check out the first page of this thread! I posted there. 2250 SAT, GPA that started at 3.0 Freshman and rose to 3.9 now, lots of E.C.s, legacy.

Nothing in the mail today in eastern New England…

It appears that mistakes are made using regular mail as well. With more and more applications being submitted, and with overworked admissions staff, mistakes may be more likely now. The logic of post hoc ergo propter hoc would suggest that e-mail is the culprit, but mistakes can happen with any method of communication.

We live in a major metropolitan area that is well inside the two-day delivery zone. It took more than a week for our student to get the letter. It is fact of life that letters are occasionally misplaced by the USPS.
