Swarthmore ED Applicants For Class of 2018!

Letter from California today (12/14), deffered

Last year it was sent separately, and not necessarily promptly. Even if you are accepted, do NOT withdraw your other applications (or stop working on them) if you do not have your FA package and need FA to attend. Last year there was a Swat ED applicant who found his FA package unworkable, but he had not kept going on his other applications. He really scrambled right at the end of December and early January to get other applications in, and it was terribly stressful. Be sure you get any FA info to Swat promptly that they need, and keep your options open and moving forward until you have seen the FA package and are confident it works for you. Don’t feel any qualms about telling Swat you need an extension on deciding about your ED choice if you don’t have your FA package yet.

Congrats to all who are accepted, and good luck to everyone who didn’t get accepted as you continue with your applications.

Accepted today, California. Yay.

Upstate New Yorker here - anyone else from the region not received a letter?

not exactly the same area, but I’m in NYC and I still haven’t received anything. Anybody else?

If the letters are not in Monday’s mail, I would call the Admissions Office. USPS can be slow, but just make sure that everything was in order with your application. I’m sure it was, but just to be safe, make the call if the letter isn’t in Monday’s mail.

sure thing. Thanks!

Hi all:

I’m Mickey from Shanghai, China. felt elated to get in!!! :DDD

Happy to know all you guys  i believe we will make one excellent class of 18!

Haven’t received anything. From Vietnam :/

Haven’t got anything either. Beijing, China. :frowning: Screwed?

Idk if they are even bothered to fedex it if we don’t get in. Gonna keep hoping till Monday, tho

They said that they would fedex if we got in and send by regular (slow) mail if we don’t. So yeah… Btw how does FedEx deliver? To our homes or mailbox? I’m not at home these days and I don’t want to miss it b/c of that.

I think both. Did anyone receive acceptance letter late last year?

@intparent: Thank you for such a valuable piece of advice. I got my decision notification via email but haven’t got any info on fin aid. Has anyone received their fin aid info ensuing the acceptance letter?

Are you sure? How do you know that only acceptance letters are fedexed?

Not sure. But it’s what they said last year. (But economically for the college, it makes sense.) I hope my letter is just late…

I am an international and I applied for FA. So I don’t actually expect the best result. Anyway, can I check in my account on Swarthmore’s website to see the result? or is it only delivered through mail?

Missfloratang: from Beijing too here! I have not got the letter, either

EricPhoenix: Nice to know that there’s another Beijinger out there! I knew that all FedEx in Asia must fly to Guangzhou first, and then gets routed to other cities. So perhaps that’s why it takes longer for non-Southern-China Asians… (Not sure though, maybe I just didn’t get in :stuck_out_tongue: )

Missfloratang : Yeah, I will be happy with both results, too. Cuz’ if I were accepted all applications I have been working on would be wasted! Plus the December SAT.
