Swarthmore's Discovery Weekend... who got in?

Sopralton86- Its on the website they gave you a link to in the email they sent you when you got accepted. If you go to the first page there is a link to the form towards the bottom of the page and it sends you to a PDF file. If you need the link again, here it is:

Swarthmore College :: Discovery Weekend :: Discovery Weekend 2008

obviously this question is on a lot of ppl's minds...does getting into this event give you an edge in the admissions? if not, does this show that you are qualified enough to become a student here?..i will see you all there.

i don't see how it could hurt in the real admissions process.... i mean you still had to compete with other kids who wanted to go

i think the real edge was already stated... you'll be there and really see what the school is all about, then you can write about it and really know what you're talking about

i'm hosting some specs for discovery weekend. i wonder if it will be any of you guys. hope you all have fun! :)

hey everyone! i'm so pumped to meet you all! two more days w00t!!
my questions: can we bring a blanket instead of a sleeping bag (it fits into my suitcase better)? or are we sleeping on the floor?

Yep, the sleeping bag is to sleep on the floor. You will also need a pillow and don't forget a towel!

Or flip flops. Don't forget flip flops for showering. :) But yeah, definitely a sleeping bag...most people don't have extra beds, although my roomie and I do have a couch, haha.

omg. you fit a couch in your room? which dorm do you live in??

hope everyone who went to discovery weekend had fun. it seemed like the specs i hosted really enjoyed themselves. one of them even decided to apply ED. it seems like it was a really enjoyable time for all (except for the meals at sharples).

Haha, I live in Roberts. :D I have a huuuuuuge room to make up for my tiny double last year.
