Sweet talking my parents

So, I really want to do the Carnegie Mellon AP/EA pre-college program. it costs $8,093 and my mom doesn't want to pay that though... I told her i could pitch in $1,500 and tried to convince her that it would benefit me in the long run, but nothing is working

any ideas?

Yeah…I wouldn’t try and get my parents to spend thousands of dollars for something millions of kids DON’T do, neither should you.

Not worth it.
Sure, you’ll look smarter by graduating a year early. But what will you get out of it other than that? Personally I’d prefer to hang out with people the same age as me, and that’s something you lose by doing that.
Plus, senior year of HS is not something you want to give up.

Take that $8093 and apply it to your college loans instead. In the end, employers aren’t going to care that you graduated from HS a year early. They’ll care more about what you got out of college as well as what you did during your four years. (Internships, work experience, etc)

@lacrossegirl123 You’ve had your say, take it easy

That’s a pretty big price tag, so I’d recommend asking yourself whether this program is absolutely critical for accomplishing your goals in life. Seems to me like its a nice extra but not worth it in the long run.

At this point I think you are trolling, but…

You can’t, not for that much money. Not only will they probably be spending lots of money in the next few years for college, but it also unnecessary. If you really want to attend get a job, save your money for the next year and go next summer.

Basically, you’re just waiting for one opinion: " yes you should go. Here is how to,‘sweet talk’ your parents in 5 steps. "
Clearly no one is going to give you that opinion so maybe you should stop "buuump!"ing the thread and reread the answers you already received.

LOL. you’re not going to be able to convince your parents to spend that much money on a privelage, and you shouldn’t be able to. don’t do it
