My Dad attended West Point (years ago) and told me that one of the most rigorous fitness challenges involved swimming, as many cadets were “caught off guard.” Is anyone aware of the swimming requirements for USAFA? As I don’t swim on a regular basis, any information that would assist me in preparing would be greatly appreciated.

Basic swimming class for those who don't pass the swimming aptitude test.

Then there's the water survival course. This one is hard.

You'll take the basic swimming class until you can swim a 200 in under some time (it's in your first post-acceptance packet, too lazy to look, check it out).

Haven't received that yet. -Don't know why, but is there anything about swimming a half mile?
Thanks

If you have sent in your Appointment and haven't received anything yet, you need to call.

I've called 3 or 4 times now, and every single time they've said they need my final transcript before they can "process my packet". Fortunately I'm done with school and my transcript should get there within the nest week or so, but I'm completely in the dark right now about pretty much everything. It doesn't really make sense to have the deadline June 10th, but then only send out stuff once you recieve the transcript...then some people only have a week or so to prepare and get all the info.

Like I said, they're wrong. Call and talk to Sharon Jones, even if she's not your AC.
