Switch from B.Arch to BS.Arch?

I am currently a sophomore in the B.Arch program. I've been seriously considering switching to the BS.Arch program. Here are a couple of reasons that influenced this thought:

I plan to get licensed in the state of New York where an accredited degree is not required for licensure.

Along with the 3 years of interning for the IDP, I am willing, in fact I would prefer to work an additional 2-3 years in order to be eligible for taking the ARE.

1) Based on the above, are there any reasons why I should stay in the B.Arch program?
2) With a BS.Arch degree, will my pay as an intern during and after the IDP be different from those interns that graduated with a B.Arch?

Thanks!

do you anticipate any changes to the requirements before you are eligible? Having the professional degree is a great back up as well as qualifying for licensing in other states.
